A bit about me …….

Hello, I’m Lilian Kelly. Welcome to Room to Change, addiction counselling online and in Edinburgh. My practice is based on self-care and compassion, with a focus on your goals and what you want to achieve in your recovery.

I trained for 4 years in counselling and psychotherapy with Physis Scotland in Edinburgh, and I have a post-graduate diploma in counselling using Transactional Analysis. I use an integrated approach to counselling and combine techniques from Transactional Analysis, Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

A number of years ago I had a big change in my life and I decided to do something I’m passionate about. I left my job in finance and began working in a homeless hostel for women. I now work in a recovery service supporting people with problem substance use. I also volunteer with a local counselling service.

I’m a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, and a member of the Federation of Drug and Alcohol Professionals. I work within the ethical codes of these professional bodies.

Recovery Room

The recovery room is a safe and confidential space where we can work together to develop a plan which will support your goals.

Friends & Family Support Room

Substance use and addictive behaviours can damage family dynamics, erode trust, and break communication. The role of the family in recovery is very important.

Group Room

The group dynamic encourages open and honest feedback, and connection between people with shared experiences.

“Recovery is about progression, not perfection.”
